Calibration sanding brings panels to an exact, uniform thickness with a hard contact roller set at a fixed distance from the conveyor. It is the first step on raw boards such as particleboard, MDF, plywood and engineered flooring, and usually uses a coarse grit. Fine sanding heads then remove the deep scratches of the calibration step.
