Contact adhesive, usually based on polychloroprene or polyurethane, is applied to both surfaces and left to flash off until it is dry to the touch. When the parts are joined under brief, firm pressure the bond forms immediately, without a long press time. Typical uses are HPL on worktops, edges, foam and upholstery, and other bonds that must hold at once.
