In surface treatment the main cost drivers are coating and glue consumption, energy for drying and curing, labour and rejects. Roller and curtain application waste far less material than spraying, LED curing uses less energy than conventional UV lamps, and automated handling reduces labour and damage. Measuring the spread in grams per square metre and the reject rate shows where savings are possible.
