High-gloss polishing turns a fully cured coating into a mirror-like finish. The surface is first sanded with very fine abrasives to remove orange peel and dust inclusions, then polished with compounds on rotating pads or brushes until the gloss is uniform. The process requires a coating built up thick enough to be sanded without cutting through.
