Hotmelt adhesives are solvent-free thermoplastics applied in molten form that bond as they cool. Reactive PUR hotmelt also cures with moisture after application, which gives a bond with high heat and water resistance. In flooring production PUR hotmelt bonds an oak top layer to a plywood core, and a roller press gives enough bond strength that no stack press is needed.
