Powder coating applies a dry powder electrostatically and then melts and cures it in an oven into a closed, durable film. It is the standard finish for metal, where curing typically takes place at high temperature. Heat-sensitive substrates such as MDF can be powder coated with low-temperature or UV-curing powders.
