Water-based adhesives use water as the carrier for the binder, as in PVAc, EVA and polyurethane dispersions. They set as the water is absorbed by the substrate and evaporates, and they contain few or no solvents. Their drying speed depends on the absorbency of the materials, the spread and the temperature.
