Furniture producers use Soest machines to prepare, coat and dry panels, fronts, tabletops and case parts in one continuous flow.
Preparation starts with the VD belt sander, which calibrates solid wood and glued panels to exact thickness; with upper and lower units it sands both faces in a single pass. Between lacquer layers, the F denibbing machine removes dust nibs and raised fibers, so the next coat goes onto a clean, keyed surface.
The coating method depends on the finish. The RC and RC-L roller coaters lay down an even film of lacquer, stain or oil. The VG curtain coating machine applies a heavier, self-leveling film for filled and high-build finishes, on working widths up to 1,300 mm. The AS automatic spraying machine coats panels up to 1,250 mm wide with solvent- and water-based systems and collects the overspray for reuse, and the SGC coats the face and the edges of a panel in one pass.
Drying follows in-line: an air/IR drying tunnel for water-based lacquers, or a UV drying tunnel that cures UV coatings in seconds, including pigmented finishes and coated edges.
